Research into Quality of Life for people with neurological diseases (QoL)
This piece of research covers a range of neurological diseases, not just MND. It’s well recognised that neurological conditions affect quality of life in a variety of ways – some impacts are common to several different conditions whereas others are quite specific.
The researchers on this study want to understand how living with a particular neurological condition affects quality of life. Using questionnaires and interviews they plan to uncover exactly what matters to patients with different conditions and how as a result changes in services and care can improve quality of life.
I think this is especially important for MND because it is the fear of inexorably transitioning into an unbearable quality of life that many patients (and those who care about them) find so traumatic.
