Since the 1980s he has pioneered advanced techniques for revealing hidden systemic threats

Dr. Peter Bowman Scott-Morgan has long been acknowledged as the foremost authority on decoding systemic drivers of the (often unwritten) ‘rules of the game’ that drive organizations and society and that as a result determine how a community’s future will evolve, the threats it faces and the barriers to change embedded within it. The methodologies he devised in the 1980s have been applied around the globe to decode the behavior of large groups and accurately predict how they will evolve. His concepts were originally derived from techniques he used for his PhD research into advanced robotic systems; in effect applying the rigor of ‘hard’ sciences like cybernetics, systems thinking and complexity theory to ‘soft’ sciences like sociology, economics, and political science. Full details of the classic version of the technique as well as an early public-domain tutorial can be found on a cache of the original Flash-enabled Unwritten Rules site.

His lifelong fascination with understanding how the components of the world economy and the international community actually work and interact has progressively required Dr. Scott-Morgan  to bridge many disciplines. As a result, on average every ten years he has added a new field of expertise to his study. He now has a deep knowledge in three distinct disciplines: sociology, technology and management-science with a good grasp of history and politics. With specialist expertise in system dynamics, organizational strategy, and change management, he has built a track record of published thought-leadership, authoring over a hundred articles and refereed papers, as well as numerous reference materials and eight books.

Across the USA, Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America, Dr. Scott-Morgan has been granted privileged research-access to the secret workings of a wide variety of communities ranging from government organizations to multinationals, from not-for-profit foundations to state-funded institutions, from major associations to start-ups, from conglomerates to partnerships, and from whole nations to local neighborhoods. As a highly sought-after expert, he has maintained a parallel presence in both business and academia and has spent approximately the same amount of his career based in the USA as in Europe. He was born in London on 19th April 1958.
